Even people who think themselves part of the “scene” often subject professional dominatrices to stereotypes. Mistress Malice – in the university town of Athens, GA – writes about the realities:
Seems I am asked this question more and more lately since I do not pass out pro sessions like Mcdonalds does burgers, but I feel the title of Distance Domme is normally a thin disguise for Money Dommes who have never owned a whip much less a real slave. I would not fit that category obviously either. Yet according to some in the Professional Domination scene and some slaves that contact Me seeking a same day real time session, I would because I do not allow just any sub off the street who can afford a session to buy one. So I suppose I don’t fit the normal preconceived conceptions of a Professional Dominatrix either nor do I wish to. So what should I call Myself to please everyone else? Who fucking cares what anyone else thinks? I can assure you that I do not! I don’t need a title to validate My worth as a Dominatrix. I have always been honest about Myself and My expectations as a Domme and if you don’t like it fuck you. It’s that simple. That doesn’t make Me any less real then a full time Professional Dominatrix offering professional sessions to any of you morons who can cough up the cash, is just makes Me different.
Perhaps we as a growing community need a new catagory for those of us who do actually accept real time subs at our discretion, but need more motivation then money to allow such an honor. Believe it or not there are some of us, Myself included, who still do Domination because we enjoy it and believe in the true standards of D/s and expect our potential submissives to do so as well. Long ago money was not enough alone to buy you a chance to serve a Dominant Woman like Myself, obedience, devotion, and compatibility was actually required as well. I’d like to see a return of these standards as the attempts by some to completely commercialize Bdsm is ruining some of it’s finer points for everyone. This is what I am attempting to bring about in those who serve Me, and why you can not simply buy a real time session with Me without first being screened and proving yourself to Me. Does that make Me any less real?
It would seem that according to most these days the standards of a “REAL” Dominatrix is set by whether you charge and take a quanity of subs and not by the fact that you enjoy it and seek quality subs to serve you that you will enjoy spending time with as much as they enjoy serving.
