Living by Her Pleasure

Chris and Annie have recently begun a D/s lifestyle. He writes clearly and tenderly:

For me the M/s relationship is really more of a service nature than a purely sexual matter. Since I am who I am the “romantic” aspects of medieval knighthood and the relationship, “the Minne” that existed between women and men at least within the feudal system then are extremely interesting to me. It is a peculiar platonic love between a man and a woman in which men (usually knights) pledged their service to a Lady, the submission of his will to hers and the courtship of her attention and acceptance. Men underwent remarkable challenges.

What is funny and also the greatest challenge is for Annie to “realize”, as in converting into reality that she is both entitled and worthy of such devotion. My need to serve her is stronger at present than her ability to accept that service without guilt. Since there is not a nasty bone in her body she has trouble being selfish.

And then of course there are the sexual aspects. They are subtle, pervasive, always close to the surface. Hand in hand with this heightened awareness comes a “loss of innocence” which is both sad and beautiful at the same time. The immediacy and freshness of lovers interaction is replaced by the meaningful, intensely formed interaction between Mistress and slave. It is necessary to ensure at least for now a sense of discrimination between us as individuals in our relationship.
